Toni’s Story

Toni is being cared for by her grandparents. She is a ‘Youth Champion’ and shares her experience of kinship care with other children who have experienced the loss of their parents. Toni demonstrates a quiet confidence and helps organise fun events for other children and young people to enjoy.
Toni is actively involved in our MiniKins Programme were she helps other children learn how to cook and bake. More recently, she worked alongside Emain Publications and the Nerve Centre to develop an audio version of our storybook ‘Kuddles Goes to Live With His Granny’.
Toni has met and developed new friendships with other children in kinship care. She takes everything in her stride and her grit and determination and her amazing smile inspires everyone she comes in to contact with.
Toni is a remarkable young girl who wants to make her mum and dad and her grandparents proud.

Take on a Challenge

Sign up to do something that will stretch you to your limits. Be that a sporting challenge (like a marathon), a walking or biking challenge or something even more adventurous (a skydive?!). Ask your friends and family to sponsor you in aid of Kinship Care NI.

Hold a Fundraising Event

Organise a fundraising event, like a Coffee Morning or a BBQ and invite all your friends and family.

Leave a Legacy

By remembering Kinship Care NI in your Will, you will be leaving behind a legacy that will make a real difference to children and young people in kinship care. You can also specify how you would like your gift to be used.

Payroll Giving

Setting up a donation through your pay is simple. However you are paid - whether monthly, weekly or every four weeks – you can give to Kinship Care NI in a tax effective way through your pay. A donation to Kinship Care NI each pay day will enable us to deliver more programmes and activities to children and young people.
